Liam Neeson‘s latest movie, Unknown, was originally called Unknown White Male. A trailer has arrived to give us a look at the fairly simple storyline, and show us once again that Neeson is not to be trifled with.
Synopsis: Dr. Martin Harris awakens after a car accident in Berlin to discover that his wife suddenly doesn’t recognize him and another man has assumed his identity. Ignored by disbelieving authorities and hunted by mysterious assassins, he finds himself alone, tired and on the run. Aided by an unlikely ally, Martin plunges headlong into a deadly mystery that will force him to question his sanity, his identity, and just how far he’s willing to go to uncover the truth.
It’s really a pretty simple storyline, but that may just work. Guy goes into coma, has identity stolen, fights for it back. Factor in Neeson as that guy, and it very well might be as good as Taken was. Neeson seems to have perfected the powerful, “own the room” presence and it’s certainly apparent in the trailer.
I’m excited by the prospect of seeing Betty Draper…er, January Jones… in something outside of Mad Men. I think she’s a talented actress and obviously a treat for the eyes. Also starring are Diane Kruger and Frank Langella – Langella being an Oscar-nominated actor (Frost/Nixon).
