WARNING: Spoilers of season 4 will follow.
Showtime released its trailer for Dexter‘s season 5 at Comic-Con over the weekend and it’s now online for us to drool over. Now we get to see Dexter (Michael C. Hall) face the death of his wife, Rita (Julie Benz). When the police arrive, he says “It was me,” and he blames himself for the death of his wife.
He sees his own horrifying childhood moment with the death of his mother being relived by his own baby, and he feels an incredible burden of guilt. Detective Quinn (Desmond Harrington), ever suspicious of Dexter’s activities, feels like Dexter had something to do with Rita’s death – but of course we know that isn’t the case. It was likely The Trinity Killer (John Lithgow), although even Rita’s kids seem to blame Dexter.
Plus we’ve also got Debra (Jennifer Carpenter) hunting down Dexter’s alter-ego Kyle Butler (from season 4), so she’s tracking her own brother in this season. Kind of a cool plot line as well. Season 5 begins September 26 on Showtime. Anyway, enjoy the trailer and leave your thoughts in the comments below.
