Facebook: The Movie. Well, that’s what it should have been called. I guess The Social Network will suffice. Anyway, the teaser trailer appeared online today (via Mashable). The film stars Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake, Andrew Garfield and Joe Mazzello.
It is just a teaser trailer, and doesn’t give away too much. Hit the jump to watch The Social Network teaser trailer…
As you can see, not much is really shown. The film is, of course, the story about the world’s largest social networking site: Facebook. It’s also about the two founders of the site: Eduardo Saverin and Mark Zuckerberg. Haven’t heard of Saverin but know Zuckerberg’s name? There’s a reason for that.
The movie will dive into the story behind the network and how it all came to be. With Facebook now the second largest website in the world (behind Google), you can imagine money comes in to play quite a bit. A lot of money. The film is based on the book The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal by Ben Mezrich.
Look for the film October 1, 2010 from Columbia Pictures.
