We’ve already had our chuckle over how simple the Rango teaser trailer is. The trailer appeared a couple of weeks ago to build interest in the upcoming animated film from Paramount Pictures. If you haven’t seen it, trust me – you aren’t missing much.
Anyway, we finally have our first look at the character that will be voiced by Johnny Depp. Hit the jump to see the very first Rango movie poster and get a glimpse of Depp’s character…
I don’t know why, but this character cracks me up. Doesn’t it remind you of Depp in the throes of a drug-bender in Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas?!
Anyway, Rango is helmed by Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean 1,2,3) and also stars Isla Fisher, Timothy Olyphant, Bill Nighy, Alfred Molina, Harry Dean Stanton, Abigail Breslin, and Ray Winstone. The film is scripted by John Logan (The Aviator). All we know about the plot is that Rango is “an oddly charismatic household pet that goes on an adventure to discover its true self. The story of a chameleon with an identity crisis.”
The film hits theaters next year on March 18. Stay tuned as it’s expected a new trailer will hit the web soon.
